My first Halloween!

Happy Halloween to all! Cameron had a great "first" Halloween despite being on the mend from fighting a stomach virus & fever earlier this week. He started out the day in his "Halloween" outfit, and luckily we got a picture when we did since before long his adorable shirt was covered in spit up and poo(thank you stomach virus!).

Next, it was time to get ready to go trick or treating. Cameron looked so cute in his Tigger costume!

Our first stop was to see Nan and Papaw. They loved his costume too!

After we went to see Nan and Papaw, we went to see Granny and then we went to Aunt Kristen and Uncle Mike's house. This was a surprise to Aunt Kristen and Uncle Mike and this was Cameron's first ever "Trick or Treat". We caught the big occasion on video which I have attempted to upload below. I apologize for the bumpy video (I need some camcorder practice) and the obnoxious commentary- you might want to turn your volume off (ha!)! Hope you enjoy it & Happy Halloween from the Hardy Family!

Pumpkin Patch and Carving...

Last week we went to the pumpkin patch to pick out two pumpkins...one to carve into a jack o'lantern and one for my "special" Halloween project (more on that below!). Cameron got all dressed up for our big trip....

We arrived and got ready to head to the "patch".

Now in my head, I was thinking patch=big field full of pumpkins, but when we got there, we first came to a collection of about 30 pumpkins at the front of the store. That was enough for us and we didn't really take the time to investigate if there was an actual "patch" like I was thinking. Instead, we just surveyed the pumpkins in the collection and found two that would suit our purposes. Anti-climactic? Yes, but we got what we needed...

Cameron was very picky about the pumpkins he wanted to bring home!

Saturday morning, we got ready to work on my special project.
Zack took over carving duties.

Cameron took over the supervising duties.

After three tries, we finally got the holes big enough and now I proudly present to you...
Cameron Hardy in a Pumpkin!!

I love how these pictures turned out. My intention was to get them printed and send out Halloween cards to everyone, however, realistically, with the amount of free time I have lately, the Halloween cards would probably get to you by the week after Thanksgiving. So, I decided to share them here instead! Cameron did a great job and was very patient in putting up with my antics! I have to take advantage of his inability to object to sitting in a cold, slimy pumpkin for an absolutely adorable picture while I can!!
10/31**I need to edit this to add that Cameron is the proud winner of our local news station's Halloween picture contest thanks to the picture above! He got over 100 votes for favorite picture. We are now the proud winners of a Heartland series t-shirt and "bragging rights" according to the news station's web site- Go Cameron!!!**

It's been awhile...

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated our blog...we've been really busy! As Cameron is getting older, he's sleeping a little bit less during the day which makes it a little tougher to find the time to update. He's 12 weeks old today, about a week away from being three months old! I still can't get over how fast time flies when you have a little one around. Cameron has been growing and changing so much. He smiles all the time. My favorite smiles are the ones that are so big that he squints his eyes and ends up with a double chin. They are amazing! His favorite activities are laying on his play mat and trying to catch his monkey and giraffe that hang above his head. He also loves listening to Raffi...we now have 3 Raffi albums and even Zack sings along! His favorite book so far is Curious George's ABCs and his favorite toy is his "moo cow" that squeaks and has a mirror for him to look at himself. I can also say he's definitely "discovered" his hands. He loves chewing on them and he even clasps his fingers together every once in a while.
We have a lot to look forward to in the next few weeks...Katie and Kelli (my best friends since middle school) are flying in this weekend for a whirlwind visit to meet Cameron. We're hoping to spend some time hanging out here and also visiting with my parents at the lake. We are also planning a family trip to the pumpkin patch to pick out Cameron's first pumpkin and maybe we'll get to pick some apples while we're there. Then Halloween is right around the corner...Cameron's Tigger Halloween costume is ready to go (unless he hits another growth spurt in the next week and a half!). We also have his three month professional pictures the week after Halloween. So, hopefully, I will have lots of new updates and pictures as we enjoy all of the fun plans we have coming up. Love to all!

2 month checkup!

Cameron went for his two month checkup on Monday. The doctor said everything looked great and Cameron was a healthy, happy little boy!
Here are his most recent stats:
Weight- 12lbs14oz; 75th percentile
Height- 24 1/4 inches; 90th percentile
Head-38.4 cm
I was really dreading the vaccination part of this appointment, so Zack took off work to come with us to the appointment. I must say, the nurse was fabulous. I didn't watch her give him the shots, I just watched the little tray she brought the needles in on, but she had given him all three shots before I even heard him scream! After the third and final shot, he cried for about a minute and a half and that was it. Yup...that was it! All of the stress and worry for just about nothing! Cameron has definitely pitched bigger fits at home, he didn't even make his pitiful scream/cry noise that I lovingly call the "goat call" which he uses when he's really upset over something! I was so proud of him being such a brave and tough little guy. He was basically asleep by the time we got back to the car and stayed asleep except to eat and get his diaper changed until it was time for bed. He also slept really well Monday night. Tuesday night, he came down with a bit of a fever, but one dose of Tylenol knocked it out (although I didn't sleep much because I was worried his fever would come back in the night and get worse). So, all in all, our little guy is healthy, brave, and growing too fast! Zack and I still fall more in love with him (and eachother) every day! We are so lucky.
